About Roger

Roger Proctor MA(Oxon) PGCE (Music) QTS

Roger has performed and taught professionally for many years including recording on numerous albums, appearing live at the World Famous Jazz Cafe in London with his current band (which topped Music Week's 'best newcomer' poll), and touring nationally with his string quartet 'Cube' featured in Classical Music magazine. Roger originally trained with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and studied both classical music at Oxford University and Jazz Piano at Goldsmiths University. Roger has achieved Associated Board Grade 8 Distiction on both Violin and Piano.

His band's album 'The Problem of Knowledge' was released to critical acclaim (9/10 in the New Musical Express) and the more recent 'Love in the Mist' received glowing reviews in Uncut and Mojo music magazines. He has performed with the Innovations Jazz Orchestra (keys) and regularly performs with the West Forest Sinfonia. Roger teaches piano at Wellington College. He is a member of EPTA (The European Piano Teachers Association www.epta-uk.org/). Roger is also a registered teacher with the General Teaching Council and holds a full Disclosure Certificate (enhanced CRB) and Public Liability Insurance.
